Caputo is headed to the glue factory
Assemblyman/Freeholder Ralph Caputo is history next year. When he ran for assembly in 07, he made public (published) statements that he would give up his Essex freeholder seat if elected to the assembly.
In early 08, he filed petitions to run for re-election to that freeholder seat and made public (published) statements that double dipping is just fine in his book. He was subsequently challenged in the Democratic primary by an underfunded, understaffed, no name candidate. Even though Caputo was on the organization line with Lautenburg, he barely squeaked by, winning with only 52% of the vote.
To put it into perspective, Lautenburg received 80% of the vote and Caputo barely wins.
Parlay Ralph's double dipping with his arrogant demeanor and I'd say that if Ralph doesn't mend a lot of fences real quick, he'll be on the outside looking in next year.
Vas and others
Chiaponne is in very much danger since he plans on eventually running againist the machine for Mayor. They are probably getting ready to "attempt" to take him out. Caridad Rodriguez is getting bad press in Union City, even though she has Stack on her side. The most in danger here is Joe Vas!
