VENIS FOR CONGRESS - VENIS SUPPORTS EMPLOYEE FREE CHOICE ACT

Hillsborough, NJ – Christopher Venis, Republican candidate for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, announces his commitment to the American worker by throwing his support behind the Employee Free Choice Act (H.R. 800), which ensures that when a majority of employees in a workplace decides to form a union, employees can do so without the debilitating obstacles employers now use to block workers’ free choice.

 “Too many New Jersey families and workers, many in the 7th district, are struggling to make ends meet in the face of a frail economy, stagnant paychecks, and rising costs of living,” said Venis. 

“We as a nation cannot continue on this path. The America worker needs protection, equality and the ability to freely voice their concerns without fear of persecution. For too long, employees wanting to form unions have unlawfully been subjected to harassment, intimidation, bullied and even terminated for wanting the ability to bargain for a better quality of life. For these sobering reasons is why I am in full support of the Employee Free Choice Act,” said Venis. 

  “Supporting this legislation is a no brainer. I am running for Congress because I believe the American worker has been pushed to the wayside and this is unacceptable. We need to listen to the women and men who are the life force of our nation’s economy.” 

“America has a proud history of making sure citizens’ basic civil and human rights are honored. That’s what the civil rights movement was about. That’s what the women’s suffragist movement was about. That’s what the Declaration of Independence was about. Now is the time to give the American worker the freedom to form unions,” concluded Venis.
