VENIS FOR CONGRESS - Venis Signs Taxpayer Protection Pledge

Christopher Venis signs the Taxpayer Protection Pledge
Tax and Spend Democrats need to be stopped

Hillsborough, NJ Christopher Venis, Republican candidate for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, announced today that he signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge sponsored by Americans for Tax Reform (ATR). The ATR pledge calls on those seated members of Congress and hopefuls to oppose any and all state and federal tax increases.

“I signed the ATR pledge to demonstrate my commitment to stop Democrats as they try to tax and spend America out of economic prosperity,” said Venis. “There is no denying that Washington, even under Republican control, has strayed from the principals of fiscal conservatism, and this is one reason we now find ourselves in the minority.”

“The time is now for conservatives to lead the Republican Party back to a path of fiscal responsibility and provide the American people with an alternative to the agenda of reckless spending being proposed by the Democrats.”

“Republicans need to return to the principals of limited government and fiscal restraint. We have strained from the path and the current environment in Washington is the direct result of this shortsightedness,” continued Venis.

Americans for Tax Reform is a non-partisan coalition of taxpayers and taxpayer groups who oppose any and all federal and state tax increases.

“Americans, now more than ever, need leaders committed to fiscal responsibility and pro-growth economic policies,” said Grover Norquist, president of ATR.”

“By signing the Pledge, Mr. Venis demonstrates his allegiance to hard-working taxpayers nationwide, as well as dedication to taxpayers in New Jersey. I applaud him for his leadership and dedication to the ideals of limited government,” said Norquist.

“Washington has a severe spending problem. This kind of irresponsible behavior can no longer be sustained by raising taxes or simply passing our debts onto future generations. The taxpayers of the 7th Congressional District deserve a government they can trust and that is based on responsible budgeting, smart decisions making and more transparency.” “I am running for Congress because I believe that I am best person that will protect working families across this district and New Jersey,” said Venis.

Christopher Venis lives in Hillsborough in Somerset County with his wife and two children. Venis is a fiscal and social conservative who shares the concerns and values of our families and will fight for lower taxes, protecting our nation, strengthen immigration enforcement and border security.
