Hillsborough, NJ – Christopher Venis, Republican candidate for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, announced today that he signed the earmark reform pledge sponsored by the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW).
"I'm thrilled to see an organization such as the Citizens Against Government Waste is urging candidates and current members of Congress to sign this commitment. The 7th district’s hardworking taxpayers deserve an elected official who is willing to go to bat for their hard-earned dollars and I am that person,” said Venis.
“I have committed myself to the pledge because I believe that Congress needs to be more accountable to the people whose money they spend. This commitment goes well beyond any current earmark disclosure rules to improve transparency and demand higher standards from all members of Congress,” said Venis.
“The time is now for conservatives to lead the Republican Party back to a path of fiscal responsibility and provide the American people with an alternative to the agenda of reckless spending being proposed by Democrats like Linda Stender,” said Venis.
“The taxpayers of the 7th Congressional District deserve a government they can trust and that is based on responsible budgeting, smart decisions making and more transparency.” “I am running for Congress because I believe that I am best person who will protect working families across this district and New Jersey,” said Venis.
“Congress must stop playing reckless shell games and start being accountable to American taxpayers who are footing the bill,” said Venis.
Christopher Venis lives in Hillsborough Township (Somerset County) with his wife and two children. Venis is a fiscal and social conservative who shares the concerns and values of our families and will fight for lower taxes, protecting our nation, strengthen immigration enforcement and border security.
