No shortage of Democrats to fill Wagner seat

If Connie Wagner is successful in her bid for the State Assembly, there will be no shortage of potential candidates to replace her in January.  A short list includes: Bergen County Improvement Authority Commissioner Cid Wilson, who was seeking an Assembly seat in the 37th district earlier this year, but withdrew when the party united behind the incumbents; Fort Lee Council President (and Acting Mayor) Ila Kasofsky; Rev. Vernon Walton, a former Englewood Councilman; Little Ferry Councilman Thomas Sarlo, the brother of State Senator Paul Sarlo; Bergen County Improvement Authority Chairman Ronald O'Malley, and former Assemblyman (and Hackensack Police Chief) Ken Zisa

Attorney Joseph Ariyan and River Edge Councilwoman Esther Fletcher could also emerge as candidates for Wagner's Freeholder seat if they lose their bids for the Legislature in District 39 this fall.

Zisa again?

Ken Zisa keeps moving on down the list of offices.

Maybe he can get Ferriero to appoint him dog-catcher.

the usual puppets

Kenny Zisa? Seriously? What a horrible list of candidates. I think Ester Fletcher is the only name on that list that doesn't make me cringe. Is this really the best the bergen dems can come up with?

The Puppet Show continues

Sarlo? What's he done? Zisa? How many chances will he get before Ferriero realizes the guy is unelectable? This time there will be a candidate that opposes the puppet appointment and we'll find out just how much support Ferriero has in a contested election. It will be a forerunner to challenging him as chairman. Is Wagner the biggest joke to serve in the legislature? What's the obsession with Paramus candidates?

Saddle Brook's Mayor

Lou D'Arminio would not make a half-bad Freeholder.

What is the rule?

For a Bergen freeholder vacancy, is the temporary appointment for the rest of the term or just to the next general election?
