If it's not going to be Clinton, Pascrell likes Webb for veep

PATERSON - U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-8) didn't hesitate today when asked whom he would like to see presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois choose as his running mate.
"Senator (Jim) Webb, from Virginia," Pascrell told PolitickerNJ.com at a press conference on gas prices in Paterson, which he attended with senators Frank Lautenberg and Robert Menendez and Paterson Mayor Jose "Joey" Torres.
"He'd be a great vice president, and you'd always know where he stands," Pascrell said of the freshman Virginia senator, and Vietnam veteran who once boxed Ollver North to earn a controversial loss when the two were in the Marine Corps.
"He's charismatic and he'd listen, but also have his own mindset, his own views," Pascrell said.
A big backer of Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) during the primary, Pascrell said he does not believe Clinton wants to be vice president, otherwise she would be his number one pick.
"I just read between the lines and you know I feel very fondly for her, but her campaign did not match her abilities, Pascrell said.
The congressman didn't completely blame her campaign staff for Clinton's loss. Part of the problem, he said, is the process.
"I just got a call from friends in Texas who told me they just finished the caucus system out there," Pascrell said. "Whoever came up with these loony tune rules needs to seek help."

Who is Pascrell?
"He's charismatic and he'd listen, but also have his own mindset, his own views." Apparently, these are characteristics that Pascrell lacks, therefore he cannot be VP. However, he can "read between the lines" and thinks that Texas is run by "loony tune rules" established by Democrats from Texas. They should come to NJ and learn our rules here: be corrupt, take what you can from the state, and always support your Chairmen. NJ Democrats are the best in the USA not like those loonies in Texas.
Pascrell for VP
He would be very appealing to Reagan Democrats everywhere and bring fun to DC. Plus who doesnt love a NJ seat being open and the mess that ensues.
Who cares?
Pascrell picked the loser in that conga line of Democrats who couldn't read the tea leaves. Why would his opinion matter for VP?
So he thinks a guy who's been in the senate less than two years should be VP?
Might as well pick the fossil.

What A Web(b) Bill Has Woven!
First, Pascrell backs Clinton for the slot. Then he decides Jim Webb, another first term United States Senator is the right man for the job.
Of course, Jim Webb openly supports John McCain's position on drilling for more oil, including offshore oil -- i.e., giving states greater leeway in decision-making about drilling off their shores.
In fact, The Hill now is reporting that Jim Webb has signed on as a co-sponsor of a bill to do just that, introduced by fellow Virginia Senator John Warner.
But, Barack Obama's has backed himself into a very strong position, vehemently opposing any such new drilling. He even says he likes the high gasoline prices -- yep, that's right he likes 'em -- just thinks they may have gone up a bit too quickly.
Naturally, the running mate he selects should hold the exact opposite view, wouldn't you agree? Bill Pascrell apparently does!
Why, it's the "Life of Riley" in Democrat politics! Here is how Hillary Clinton would respond to this "revoltin' development."
Say, is that Frank Lautenberg standing in the background behind Pascrell? Who does he support?
