McSorley says Larkin is ducking OPRA requests
By Matt Friedman, PolitickerNJ.com ReporterRepublican Mercer County Sheriff candidate Jim McSorley said that three OPRA requests he filed last week for information about the sheriff’s office have either been ignored or have been answered with incomplete information.
McSorley, a retired state police captain who’s challenging incumbent Democrat Kevin Larkin, said that he was informed that the office has not kept a table of organization for the last three years.
“Each local police department in Mercer County has a table of organization to serve the same purpose. Even McDonald’s doesn’t run without a table of organization and the fact that Sheriff Larkin has been running his office in such a reckless manner for so many years once again proves his record of mismanagement,” said McSorley.
Mercer County Democratic Chairman Richard McClellan responded by likening McSorley to Inspector Clouseau of Pink Panther fame, saying that McSorley has been given everything he’s asked for except documents of a sensitive security nature, like judge protection plans.
The idleness of retirement, combined with his naked political ambition, appears to have addled Mr. McSorley's recollection of the facts,” said McClellan. “Mr. McSorley may not like fact that his fishing expeditions through thousands of pages of documents at the taxpayers expense have not brought any results that he liked ,and his release is frankly a whiney and petulant example of that fact, but he has been given exactly what he asked for wherever the release of that information is allowed by law.”
McClellan said that over 900 pages of time records McSorley requested are sitting in the county building.
“They are only waiting for him to pony up the $217 for the copying charges,” he said.

McSorley: Deadbeat
McSorley requests thousands of pages of documents and refuses to pay for them? What kind of joke is he? He obvioulsy is NOT qualified to hold public office. He has no issues so he makes up some phony crap. Larkin will win by a landslide!
Another example of
what's wrong with Mercer County. "Politicians" deferring to their taxpayer funded mouthpiece McClellan. Larkin and the Democratic machine in Mercer have become arrogant and out of touch with the laws of NJ and the voters of the county.
McSorley is exactly the kind of honest, hardworking sheriff Mercer County needs.

Million Dollar Mouth Piece
Again we get to hear the political spin from the Taxpayer Funded Million Dollar Mouthpiece Democratic Chairman. Only now he is playing politics on taxpayer dime from the bridge commission instead of the Hamilton Township Municipal building.
As far as the idleness of retirement comment, if he would have read McSorley's resume he would have seen that he is an adjunct professor as well as a private investigator. Although he might have missed it in the 6 pages of law enforcement experience throughout his career.
Maybe Sheriff Larking should spend less time at his side gig at the Tiki Bar or less time at his side gig at the HUD taxpayer funded apartment complex (can you say Hatch Act?) and more time focused on running the sheriff's office for his $130K salary and there would be nothing for McSorley to OPRA!
