United States Senate candidate Dick Zimmer raised about $273,000 since May 15th, bringing his total raised since entering the race in April to $751,555.
Zimmer has $411,029 on hand.
“Considering that my fundraising began in mid-April, I am very encouraged by the level of support I have received in such a short amount of time,” said Zimmer. “It is clear that, as the cost of living in New Jersey becomes more and more unaffordable, New Jerseyans want more effective leadership in Washington.”
About $300,000 of Zimmer’s money is from a self-loan.
Zimmer is at a significant cash disadvantage to incumbent Sen. Frank Lautenberg, who has $1.3 million in the bank after spending about $5 million to fend off a primary challenge from Rep. Rob Andrews.

John Ashcroft should run.
Ashcroft should run. He's got alot more money.
not gonna cut it
I thought Zimmer would be doing a little better in fundraising by now.
He's being outpaced more than 2-to-1 by Democratic House challengers.
He's going to need at least a few million on hand by the time the campaign season really picks up in late September.
That's because he
excites the base about zero percent. Thanks Tom Wilson!~
Tom Wilson
Should have taken Jersy Joe's advice and dug up Teddy Roosevelt. I can't believe I am stuck having to vote for Dick Zimmer. Thanks a lot Mr. Wilson.
Cant win without Bergen
Zimmer needs to engage the voters in Bergen County if he hopes to make a race of it. He needs his people to come to Bergen County now and not after Labor Day.
Zimmer needs a campaign - period
I haven't even received those volunteer cards that nobody follows up on.
Zimmer
Had his day, his time was then.
BCRO
Zmmer nneds to rent some space from BCRO and get a staff in there making him known in Northern NJ. No one likes Frank L. but no one knows Dick Zimmer.
Dump Frank
The Senate field is completely underwhelming. Will any of you vote for me, a moderate -- but fiscal conservative -- in a write in campaign?
In plain English, Zimmer won't win. Someone needs to beat Lautenberg. He's horrible!
