New Jersey Right to Life endorses Marks

Scotch Plains Mayor Marty Marks won the endorsement of New Jersey Right to Life for his 7th district congressional run.

Marks, a dentist who is running to the right of six other candidates in the hotly contested Republican primary, used the pro-life endorsement to bolster his conservative credentials.

“This endorsement will provide a strong base of voters in both the primary and general election from which he can build for victory.  NRTL-PAC will utilize its various resources to help elect Martin Marks to Congress,” said the group’s director, Marie Tasy.

Other Republican candidates in the 7th district primary include state Sen. Leonard Lance, Kate Whitman, Dr. P. Kelly Hatfield, Iraq vet Tom Roughneen, Professor A.D. Amar and Sabrin slate candidate Darren Young.

Not a surprise

He's been running to the far right the entire time, so not a surprise.

Bitaryo = Bitstupid

Do you even think before you post? This endorsement does matter especially when the candidate is a real conservative and not pretending to be one like Lenny and Katie.

This endorsement does matter

This endorsement does matter especially when the candidate is a real conservative

Chris Smith, Mike Ferguson are Pro-Life, I would hardly call them Conservatives..

Liberal Democrats like Senator Bob Casey in PA, and HARRY REID are Pro-Life, are they REAL Conservatives too ?

In your eyes you see Kate Whitman as a conservative...enough said.

Good strategy

Finish second in every county.

Turnout

turnout will be so low, he could actually win

Second Place

Mountaintop-
I believe in '77 Ed Koch came in second in every NYC borough in the Dem primary and still won so It can happen.

Fasten Your Seatbelt

This might get interesting. This will certainly be a low turnout election and that bodes well for Marks. Only the most motivated Republicans are coming out in June and that usually means the hard-core right wingers. The pro-lifers are motivated and get their people to the polls. I see this being closer than anyone expected.

vip

Pay attention. I said election not the primary. A right of center has a better chance of WINNING against a lefty Dem.

This continual purging of people on the basis of who is the real Republican or conservative is only for when we win. With a 1% spread in the last election, this not the time for this counterproductive in-fighting.

Is this enough thought for you, fat boy?

Easy there killer

Your soap box rally call falls short. Your argument is flawed because you assume that the anit-bush / fergie environment still remains strong in the district...you do realize that this is an open seat...Stender has the highest negatives out of the bunch and she can easily be linked to a failing governor, raising taxes at every level of government she served, ect...Stender 1% two years ago is the closest she'll ever get to a seat in congress - so I find it odd how you are trying to rationalize an endorsement that is for a congressional seat vs a statewide election...makes no sense - its reaching. As for the primary, yes this is the perfect time for it...there are 7 choices of vanilla out there and the voters are going to need to taste the flavors themselves. Think about it.
