Kyrillos: New Jersey Needs New Economic Policies
By mpealSenator Joe Kyrillos (R-13) issued the following statement in response to the New Jersey Business & Industry Association’s 2008 Business Outlook Survey that shows half of the 1,300 survey participants believe business conditions in New Jersey will get worse before they get better.
“This survey is another example of how our state’s business climate has crumbled. If this report isn’t viewed as a wakeup call for the Governor and the majority, I don’t know what will be.
Most of the participants included in this survey made it clear that they believe New Jersey is turning its back on business. Only 19 percent said they would consider expanding their businesses in our state while the rest agreed that exorbitant property taxes, health insurance costs and business taxes are enough to make them look elsewhere.
The bottom line is that the Governor’s office and the majority can no longer ignore these trends. It is time to reinvigorate the business climate by creating a state brand that attracts business, cutting government spending and enacting real and lasting property tax reform.
Fixing New Jersey’s business climate should be top priority for the Governor and the Legislature this coming year. Our prosperity depends on it.”

The campaign credit card used to pay for the clothing was reimbursed in total by the airline, which wrote a check for $952.04 to the congressman on July 20, 2007.
