Myers Invites Rep. Van Hollen to Join Him Door-to-Door
to Ask "Middle Class" New Jerseyans About Adler's Trenton
Will pay for Congressman's trip home if they meet voters favorable to Legislature
Mount Holly, August 27, 2008-Successeful businessman and decorated combat veteran Chris Myers (NJ-3) offered the following invitation to Maryland Congressman and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) Chairman Chris Van Hollen today, after Van Hollen referred to Myers' opponent, career Trenton politician John Adler, as "a fighter for the middle class" while on stage at the Democratic National Convention in Denver:
"I would like to invite Congressman Van Hollen to join me while I knock on doors in the middle class neighborhoods of Toms River, Mount Laurel and Cherry Hill, so he can hear firsthand the hardships being faced by families in New Jersey because of John Adler's 16-year, tax and spend career in Trenton," said Myers, who has knocked on more 2,000 doors and found anti-Trenton sentiment widespread amongst voters of every stripe. "I'll also make a friendly wager with the Congressman. If he chooses to accept, we will knock on ten doors of unaffiliated voters - randomly selected - and ask these voters their honest opinion of Trenton and the State Legislature. I bet at least seven - and maybe all ten - will tell you that this State is going in the wrong direction, taxes are too high, and the politicians in Trenton have made this state unaffordable. If I'm wrong, I will pay for his airfare back to Maryland...first class."
Myers said he is eager to hear Congressman Van Hollen's response.
"The bottom line is, Congressman Van Hollen wants John Adler in Congress because he knows Adler will be a reliable vote for Nancy Pelosi's tax and spend agenda in Washington, just like he has been a reliable vote for Jim McGreevey and Jon Corzine's tax and spend agenda here in New Jersey," added Myers Campaign Manager Chris Russell.

Q: Why does Myers care what a MD congressman thinks?
A: Because he's running scared and broke.
Duh
Duh - Van Hollen has been sending out mailers which are void of facts on behalf of Alder. It was a good move to invite Van Hollen. Won't have the guts to do it.
