Cohen Applauds Latest Addition to NJ's Growing Stem Cell Research Market

COHEN APPLAUDS LATEST ADDITION TO NJ'S GROWING STEM CELL RESEARCH MARKET
Assemblyman Says StemCyte Facility will Help Find Keys to Lifesaving Treatments, Boost State Economy
(ROSELLE) - Assemblyman Neil M. Cohen today praised the decision by California-based stem cell research company StemCyte - one of the world's largest umbilical cord blood stem cell banks - to open a research facility in Ewing.
Cohen (D-Union), a prominent supporter of stem cell research and the lead Assembly sponsor of the laws creating umbilical cord blood collection centers and world-class stem cell research facilities in New Jersey, issued the following statement:
"The decision by StemCyte to open a research facility in Ewing is proof positive that New Jersey remains on the cutting edge of life-saving stem cell research.
"Our long-standing advocacy in advancing stem cell research opportunities in the state is paying off. We have a multinational company seeking to create new jobs and research opportunities in New Jersey at a time when the national economic outlook is bleak.
"We must continue to give our full support to advancing our understanding of stem cells, both for the economic benefits and for the chance to generate life-changing treatments and cures for those suffering from incurable or untreatable diseases."
