In response to Republican challenger John Bencivengo's call for ten debates, Hamilton Mayor Glen Gilmore said he would settle for three engagements.
"Mayor Gilmore's not doing ten debates," said Gilmore spokesman Doug Suessegger. "The mayor's got a town to run."
The candidates already had one debate at Steinert High School. Suessegger said the mayor would be available to do two more prior to the election on Nov. 6.

What's Gilmore afraid of?
Why is Gilmore so afraid to debate Bencivengo? After 8 years as mayor doesn't Gilmore have any accomplishments worth talking about other than driving Hamilton into bankruptcy? It's truly amazing that Gilmore will put his name on every sign in Hamilton, but then refuses to be seen in public talking about the issues. If Gilmore is too busy to debate, why doesn't he send his spokesman Doug Suessegger to debate for him? He's always speaking for Gilmore anyway and at least this way he can earn his paycheck.
gilmore no more
if the mayor has the balls to put his name on every damn sign in the town than he should have the balls to debate and let the voters of the town know where he and john stand on the issues
