Camden County GOP Chairman Rick DeMichele had already given Anne Evans Estabrook the party line, having stuck with her despite her campaign’s recent woes. So her departure from the race hit him hard.
“It’s devastating and shocking, to be frank with you. She called me last night and told me, and it’s not one of those things,” he said. “ I didn’t know how to react – I was just stunned and silent.”
Estabrook’s departure won’t lead Demichele to automatically award his county line to State Sen. Joe Pennacchio or Ramapo College finance prof. Murray Sabrin. Instead, he’s taking a “wait and see approach” and address the issue at a previously scheduled meeting with his municipal chairs tonight.
“I’m not saying yes or no to Pennacchio... I’m not going to do anything today until I get a chance to talk to my municipal chairs and get their take on it,” he said. “Clearly I’ve got April 7th looming to the extent that I’m going to do anything, I need to do it by then.”

Estabrook and the County Line.
Although I am happy that Estabrook Dropped out, I am saddened at the reason why. I heard on the radio that she suffered from a mini-stroke. This isn't the way I would've liked to see her leave the race. I would've rather seen Murray beat them both in debates and ideals.
That being said, as for the Camden County Line, Rick DeMichele has to decide now the future of the party in Camden County. If he supports Pennacchio, and his liberal ideals, the party will remain dead in the water.
With the coming recession that is now being discussed on CNN, CNBC and MSNBC now, getting behind Sabrin would show that there is some leadership within the party still, and would ultimately grow the party base in that county.
As for the other "suggestions" on the poll, It would be in their best interest to stay out of the fray and let Sabrin and Pennacchio slug it out.
Time to be the man Rick.
Make a choice, and allow the process to go on. Obviously, a new county convention should take place with the remaining candidates debating their policies.
Let's not be scared of real Republicans, even if you are not one.

Just curious on this one:
What ideals of Joe Pennacchio are liberal?
Common People
Maybe because common everday NJ people can relate to him.
Wow, what a radical idea that is!
The NJ GOP leadership, can't have a candidate selected by the "regular" class now can they?
