Superior Court Judge David Waks, who served as Mayor of Wayne from 1994 to 2000, passed away on Wednesday after a battle with lung cancer. He was 66.
Waks is the father of Joseph Waks, the State Director for U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg and a former aide to Gov. Richard Codey, Rep. Bill Pascrell, and Bayonne Mayor Joseph Doria.
Waks was the first Democratic Mayor of Wayne since Robert Roe held the post in the 1960's.
