Coniglio to surrender this afternoon
By Matt Friedman, PolitickerNJ.com ReporterFormer State Sen. Joe Coniglio will surrender to the FBI to face corruption charges at the Federal Courthouse in Newark later today, according to Coniglio spokesman Keith Furlong.
It is not yet known exactly what time Coniglio will turn himself in.
After his court apperance, Coniglio’s defense attorney, Gerald Krovatin, plans to issue a statement.
The specific charges against Coniglio have not yet been released, but they are said to relate to his lobbying for $1.6 million in state funding for the Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was employed as a $5,000-a-month plumbing consultant.
The Star-Ledger and Bergen Record also report that Coniglio is expected to be indicted today.

That's why I need someone to explain how Coniglio's arrangement is different from a Dick Cody and his insurance business or a Roberts and his business interests or whomoever. Do they all recuse themselves when making a decision that is in the grey zone? Are they using Coniglio to get a bigger fish?
Has he no shame?
He should be charged with crimes against humanity for trying to pass that rug off as his own head of hair. Wonder who's prison trophy that will become.
