Assemblymen refuse to call for release of asset sale plan for second week in a row

Burlington—  7th District Assembly candidates Brian Propp and Nancy Griffin today issued the following statements on Assemblymen Herb Conaway and Jack Conners’ refusal to join them in a bi-partisan call to the Governor to release his asset sale plan.  Their statements mark the two-week anniversary of Propp and Griffin issuing a request to their opponents to join them in asking the Governor to release his proposal immediately so that the voters may have all the facts prior to the November elections.

“It’s very disappointing that Assemblymen Conaway and Conners would refuse to join us in asking the Governor to give information to the people of New Jersey,” said Propp.  They are playing politics with a very real and very important issue, the sale or lease of state assets, which would make our State far less affordable for working families.  The voters deserve to know the truth and they deserve to have the details of this plan immediately.  The Administration has spent 4.5 million taxpayer dollars to formulate his plan, which Conaway and Conners willingly voted for.  At very least, the taxpayers should get to see what they paid for.”

“Two weeks ago, Brian and I asked our opponents to do the right thing and call on the Governor to give the people of New Jersey his plan to sell our toll roads, lottery, and other assets, immediately,” said Griffin.  “It’s unacceptable that they have not joined us in this bi-partisan effort.  Brian and I are willing to debate this issue any time, any place, because we believe that the voters deserve to know the truth.  The fact that Conaway and Conners have not joined us in asking for the Governor’s plan immediately begs the question, “What are they hiding from?’”
