Conaway and Conners ignoring call to make asset sale plan public for third straight week

Conaway and Conners ignoring call to make asset sale plan public for third straight week

Burlington—  7th District Assembly candidates Brian Propp and Nancy Griffin today expressed disappointment that their opponents, Assemblymen Herb Conaway and Jack Conners, have ignored their bi-partisan call for the release of the Governor’s asset sale plan immediately for the third straight week.

“Our opponents’ silence on this issue is deafening, and it calls into question their commitment to having a meaningful debate with the public on the sale or lease of our toll roads, Lottery, and other state assets,” said Brian Propp.  “Three weeks ago, we asked Assemblymen Conaway and Conners to join us in a bi-partisan call to the Governor to release the details of his plan immediately so the voters can know the truth before the November elections.  The Administration has spent $4.5 million to formulate this policy- the taxpayers deserve what to know what they’re getting for their money and the voters deserve to know what is at stake on November 6th.”

“Nobody should be hiding from having a debate on this issue- no matter what the political consequences,” said Nancy Griffin.  “The consequences of selling or leasing our state assets, including the toll roads and the Lottery, are too important to the people of New Jersey to try to stall debate until after the election.  It is a disservice to the voters of the 7th District, and to the people of New Jersey, that Herb Conaway and Jack Conners will not join us in a simple, bi-partisan call to let this plan see the light of day.”
